From Nouakchott to the Azoueiga dunes, the Adrar oases, the ancient cities of Chinguetti and Ouadane, the Eye of Africa, and Banc d’Arguin.
Get in touch- Day 1
Arrival in Nouakchott. Welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
- Day 2
Early departure on tarmac to Akjoujt for lunch. Track to the great Azoueiga dunes, sunset over the dunes.
- Day 3
Crossing the dunes to Ereich (craft market, nomadic life), El Gleitat oasis, Tifoujar pass, White Valley to the Tarzant wadi.
- Day 4
From Tarzant wadi to the Tergit oasis (swim in a hot spring), then Zarga mountains for the night.
- Day 5
From Zarga to Chinguetti via the Argour site and its rock paintings. Visit of the old town, library and craft market.
- Day 6
Heading to Ternoucheurt. Lunch in a nomadic tent. On to Ouadane, visit of the old town and the Street of the 40 Scholars.
- Day 7
From Ouadane to the Richat structure — the Eye of Africa. Back via Atar to Banc d’Arguin. Night at Benichat.
- Day 8
Banc d’Arguin: birdwatching. Optional boat trip.
- Day 9
Return to Nouakchott: fish market, camel market, national museum (weekdays). Airport transfer.
