Amadou Touré GAYE
Amadou Touré GAYE was born in 1981 in Nouakchott. He is originally from southern Mauritania, from Keur Mour village, 30 km from Rosso in the Trarza region.
After Koranic school in Nouakchott, he completed primary and secondary studies at the Collège des garçons in Nouakchott.
He then trained in Tourism and Hospitality, graduating in 2006.
In 2009, he was selected by the Ministry of Trade, Crafts and Tourism for a Cultural Guide training programme, part of the trade capacity-building initiative.
Since then, he has worked for local agencies representing major international tour operators (Voyageurs du Monde, Allibert Trekking).
After 17 years as a professional guide certified by the Ministry of Tourism, he founded his own agency to contribute to the development of tourism in Mauritania. He named it WALO Tourisme.
Amadou is also a cultural performer: storyteller, singer and dancer.
